What We Do

Help You Wear Your Hats Well

The leaders of nonprofit organizations wear many hats. From board development and stakeholder engagement to staff management and human resources concerns, leaders jump daily among several different tasks, requirements, themes, thoughts and strategies.

Cappelli (Italian for “hats”) guides executives and boards toward the establishment of effective internal structures in order to successfully work toward your mission, fulfill your vision, achieve your strategic goals, and attract and retain donors.

Leaders have many hats to wear, and we want you to wear them well.

Holistic Support For Nonprofits

You need to invest internally in your organization in order to achieve your mission. As the ultimate charitable goal of every nonprofit organization, the mission drives your work and attracts your donors. Achieving that goal requires a strong core that creates satisfaction and pride among leadership and staff.

Like any business, successful nonprofits have their house in order– a sound governance structure, compliance with all required legal documents and filings, clear roles and responsibilities among leadership, a defined mission and vision, a strategic direction and plan for accountability, thoughtful succession planning, etc.

Cappelli provides leaders with a holistic set of tools to operate effectively and leverage your resources to achieve your mission.

I specialize in services to help you build and maintain a solid foundation in order to remain relevant, modern and competitive for both donors and staff.

I offer a unique set of skills and a broad array of experiences to guide you through your challenges and opportunities.

Why Cappelli

An Insider Approach

As a five-time executive director, I bring a combination of experiences, expertise and skills to my consulting work. I have worked for small and large nonprofit organizations, volunteered my time in a variety of capacities, and served on several boards. I have seen what works and what does not, and I can help identify blind spots and create a solid foundation for your success.

Cappelli can help you tackle your known (and unknown) challenges by providing an objective assessment of your organization and the tools to ensure mission achievement and donor retention.

I look at the effectiveness of your internal structures— governance, leadership, strategic planning, program delivery and more— and work with leadership to help you operate efficiently and invest effectively in your organization’s outcomes.

Meegan has used these skills to support nonprofits looking to professionalize their internal structures, develop short- and long-term strategy, grow their programs and achieve sustainable growth. She is a thinker and a doer; creative and organized; efficient and reliable; and collaborative and flexible. An enthusiastic public speaker who loves to give presentations, she has worked with teams as small as one and as big as 18, along with local, national and international boards ranging from eight to 40 members.

In her free time, Meegan likes to ski, play with her chocolate lab, hang with family and friends, try new restaurants, listen to 90’s hip hop and drink whiskey (not necessarily in that order). She also frequently counsels and advises young professionals seeking unique career paths in Colorado.
